The club usually flys on the second Sunday of the month during the season. The field is huge but sandy with patches of grass/weeds. the field does get mowed about once a month, so the growth isn't too high. the field is on State property and under lock and key. So there are some restrictions to deal with. Some photos to give you a sense of what to expect of the field.
Flying is usually on the second Sunday of the month, If a great day shows up in the forecast we might try and set-up an extra days flying.
Notice is by E-mail. One will be sent out toward the end of the week stating we are flying. In case of a late change in plans, please check your E-mail Sunday morning before leaving. We gather out side the main gate by 0800 hours and enter together.
As for the restrictions: the field is also used for Para military drills, an advance guard will come and ask us to leave. we need to do that promptly. In other words: don't get so much stuff out of your car that it take forever to pack away
The Forest Rangers fly patrols from the field. we need to ensure we do not block the runways at any time. We should also endeavor to set-up in a group rather than scattered around the field.
The field is located in Woodland Township, Burlington County, New Jersey. Just west of Barnegat, New Jersey. Please keep in mind that the field is not open to the public. Any flying dates must be orchestrated with the Staff at Coyle field.
PLEASE DO JOIN US!
